Alpha Lion Holdings is a small, but quickly growing company. Our team’s headcount has swelled from 4 to 22 in the last two years. We have team members in four countries – USA, Philippines, Vietnam, and Bangladesh.
We’re in the midst of fast growth, hiring, and brand expansion.
We’re seeking to hire a remote Director of Copy & Content to lead all of our content production.
About The Role
As our first Director of Copy & Content, you will make it possible for us to create, expand, and improve product marketing in an organized, strategic, and professional manner. You will lead cross-functional projects aimed at expanding into new product segments and improving existing ones. You will help architect the content backlog required to support product expansion. The Director of Copy & Content will manage all of our internal copy and content writers and will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Creative, and Product managers to successfully bring products to market and increase their reach. We’re looking for a Copy & Content Director passionate about developing Brand voices and building out cleverly written product page content fitting into each Brand’s ethos, supporting the day-to-day content needs of the Marketing team on an ad hoc basis, preparing copy for Sales materials, working closely with the Creative team to supply Content for redesigns, videos, flyers, and banners/graphics, and coordinating with the SEO team to facilitate quick delivery of articles required for their efforts.
You will also lead recruitment of future Content Team members and will be responsible for training, managing, and improving output speed and quality.
Your Day-to-Day Will Involve
- Strategizing with the Marketing and Creative teams to conceptualize and draft content for ad campaigns
- Supplying content for new product pages and embellishing existing pages to increase conversion rates and generate more traffic
- Developing, assigning, and managing the backlog for product descriptions necessary for product expansion across our many Brands
- Creating best practices for an Editing process and ensuring the process is carried out
- Training new hires on how to add content to product and blog/article pages and manage simple HTML edits (we can train you!)
- Working closely with SEO to ensure they have articles to support their strategies
Some Things We Consider Critical For This Role
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 5+ years working experience in a Content role
- Experience managing multiple direct reports
- Comfortable building partnerships across multiple teams within an organization
- Ability to work independently and creatively
- Willingness to lead and take ownership for the success of product launches
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Skilled at creating reports and organizing/presenting data within spreadsheets
- Attention to detail and cross-functional relationship management skills
Bonus Points
- Experience working for an eCommerce business or SEO Affiliate website
- Strong understanding of on-site SEO
- Experience managing the posting of content and editing HTML
- Knowledge of Amazon, Shopify, and other eCommerce platforms
