Position overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and collaborative individual to join our Cost Control members. In this role, you will in driving brand costing strategic direction and optimizing the cost of footwear products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize cost models, analyze raw material market data, and develop negotiation strategies to drive cost-effective product development. You will also coordinate and facilitate all cost-related topics internally within the Costing team and externally with other functions, to ensure our footwear products meet profitability goals without compromising on quality or design.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate cost models for footwear products.
- Manage and ensure accurate and timely cost breakdown sheets from ASICSs manufacturing partners across seasons and development stages and communicate internal and external with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product development, design, and sourcing teams to ensure product cost targets are met.
- Analyze raw material market data and industry trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best possible prices and terms for materials and production.
- Monitor and report on product costs and variances to support decision-making and financial forecasting.
- Drive continuous improvement in the costing process and cost optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with supply planning teams on product volume forecasts, identify potential bottlenecks and actively act accordingly.
- Stay up to date on footwear industry and business trends and drivers to support proactive adjustment to the dynamic cost environment
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or above
- (Background in accounting, finance, or industrial engineering preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in the footwear industry related to costing, cost analysis, or development coordination
- (Experience in sample stage cost simulation, cost negotiation strategies and pricing communication techniques preferred)
- Familiar with cost sheet structure, material unit pricing, and process cost analysis
- Able to communicate in English (upper intermediate) or Japanese (upper N3); proficient in business email and conversation (JLPT N2 or equivalent preferred)
- Skilled in Excel (including formulas and data consolidation) and PowerPoint (for cost-related presentations)
- Able to work independently with clear logic and manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Strong data sensitivity with the ability to consolidate information and generate reports
- Willing to travel to factories and internal teams within Vietnam
