JOB SUMMARY:
This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to define and document their needs, analyzing existing systems for improvements, and translating business requirements into detailed functional specifications. The Business Requirements System Engineer will also facilitate requirements gathering workshops and act as a bridge between business and technical teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand, define, and document their needs and objectives.
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing systems and processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, and use cases.
- Facilitate requirements gathering workshops, interviews, and brainstorming sessions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional -Specification Documents (FSDs), and other relevant artifacts.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders and vice-versa.
- Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment and understanding throughout the project lifecycle.
- Possess a solid understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Contribute to the design of scalable and efficient software solutions, considering technical feasibility and business impact.
- Leverage your AWS experience to understand and articulate requirements related to cloud-based solutions, infrastructure, and services.
- Participate in technical discussions and provide input on solution architecture from a requirements perspective.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure test cases accurately reflect business requirements.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by clarifying requirements and assisting with issue resolution.
- Assist project managers in scope definition, effort estimation, and risk identification.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential issues or roadblocks related to requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience in software development
- 1 year of dedicated experience as a Business Requirements System Engineer (BRSE) or similar role (e.g., Business Analyst, Systems Analyst) focusing on requirements gathering and analysis.
- 1+ year of hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including familiarity with core services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
- Fluent in Japanese (N2), Intermediate English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in creating clear and concise documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
- Understanding of database concepts and SQL.
- Basic understanding of API integrations and web services.
