Key Responsibilities and basic qualifications
 Mechanical Engineer (B.S.) with 5+ years of design experience
 Good English skills to communicate and documentation, this is important requirement.
 Able to conceptualize a new design based on user feedback which may be incomplete.
 Lots of 3D cad design using Solid Works, or something similar.
 Demonstrated capability of generating final drawing and working with machine shops to produce final parts.
 Some experience with alternate fabrication methods such as 3D printing.
 Some experience with electric device enclosures, chassis, cases, etc.
 Willing to do a certain amount of simple maintenance, modifications of existing designs.
 Demonstrated ability to work with final users to provide guidance, debugging, etc.
 Interest in making a longer-term commitment, stable work history, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
 Ability to do engineering calculations, FEA software, etc.
 Experience with modest (< 5 kV) high-voltage design.
 Experience with high vacuum systems, vacuum beamlines, etc.
 Experience with electromagnet design would be a big plus. Water cooled, potted structures a good alternative.
